Day 1 –Â Check-in at Mantis St Helena, then explore Jamestown at your leisure. Take a coastal walk to Mundens to view the sunset from fortifications above town.
Day 2 – A great way to get an overview of the island on an All Day 4 x 4 Tour with Aaron’s Adventure Tours. Take in the prominent locations and attractions on a tour that includes High Knoll Fort, Southwest Point and Sandy Bay.
Day 3 – A boat cruise is a fantastic way to appreciate the rocky coastline with dramatic cliffs rising up from the sea. See the local pod of 400+ pantropical dolphins, swim with Whalesharks (seasonal) or watch Humpbacks (seasonal).
Day 4 – A good way to start the day 699 steps – one of the Mantis team will accompany you should you desire. For the rest of your stay when asked if you’ve been up the ladder you can answer in the affirmative.
Guided tour of the Governor’s residence with tea and cake in the library, with a chance to meet 195-year-old Jonathan the Tortoise. One of few remaining Seychelles Giants, he holds two Guinness World Records (the oldest living land animal in the world, and the oldest chelonian to have ever lived).
Day 5 – St Helena Island is your perfect hiking destination offering a variety of options, catering to individuals seeking scenic yet undemanding walks, all the way to those with an adventurous spirit.
From exploring the fortifications on the rugged coastline to taking a walk in the clouds through the cloud forest. Choose from one of the 21 Post Box walks to suit you level and a guide will see that you are well taken care of while exploring Saint Helena from a different perspective.
Day 6 – Explore Jamestown and learn about its rich and varied history, by your guide, Michel Dancoisne-Martineau on a historical town walk.
Visit the museum and archives and dig into the aspects of Saint Helena’s history that intrigue you.
Take a walk along The Run from the centre of Jamestown up to the hospital. Someone from the Mantis Team will show you the way.
Day 7 – Half day Napoleonic tour which allows you to visit the Briars Pavilion, Longwood House and the Tomb.
Day 8 – Take a walk down to the waterfront and take in the sea air, enjoy a coffee at the local Coffee Shop and buy some souvenirs and mementos of your trip from Saint Helena Arts and Crafts before heading to the airport for your flight back to Johannesburg.
